The following rules apply to all 98.7 Simon contests. 98.7 Simon reserves the right to be the final approving authority on all contests. No purchase is necessary in any contest.
Contestants must be at least 18 years old and be a legal resident of the United States and can only win 1 prize per household per 30 days.
98.7 Simon is not responsible for any calls that are lost, stolen disconnected, or misdirected. By entering any contest you give 98.7 Simon the right to re-use your voice and contact information for rebroadcast.
All entries sent to 98.7 Simon become property of 98.7 Simon and will not be returned. All prizes won must be picked up within 30 days at the 98.7 Simon offices located at 7819 national service road suite 401 in Greensboro Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm excluding holidays. Prizes are not redeemable for cash. 98.7 Simon can replace a prize for one of equal or greater value.
All winners are required to sign a release form plus present valid photo id as well as a valid social security card. Failure to do so will cause the winner to forfeit the contest and prize. Winners are responsible for paying all applicable local, county, state and federal taxes.
98.7 Simon is the final approving authority on all contest rules and regulations and can exercise the right to alter or change any rule and stop any contest without written notice. Contest Rules
These contest rules are specific to the above contest conducted by Entercom Greensboro, LLC d/b/a WSMW (collectively, the “Station”). Except to the extent specifically set forth below with respect to this specific contest, the Station’s general contest rules apply to this contest as well. A copy of these specific contest rules and the Station’s general contest rules are available at the Station’s studio at 7819 National Service Dr. Suite 401 Greensboro, NC 27409 during regular business hours and on the contest page on the Station’s website at www.987simon.com. To the extent that the general contest rules differ from these rules, these rules will govern and control with respect to this Contest.
1. This contest is not open to the general public.
2. Starting on or about March 31, 2008 through on or about May 12, 2008, a number determined by the number of entrants recruited from pre-selected individuals/businesses in the metropolitan Greensboro area will receive a telephone call on behalf of Station inviting the person answering to participate in this contest by agreeing to (a) listen WSMW, (b) provide their first and last name, mailing address or fax number or email address to Station during that initial call, and/or (c) receive by fax, mail or email (as selected by entrant) periodic reminders about the contest (“Entrant(s)”).
3. Each Entrant will also have an opportunity to invite one (1) of their “friends” to enter this contest as well. Entrants will be provided with specific information that they can pass on to one friend so that that one friend can elect to go on-line to enter this contest as well. Station will not contact any such friend unless and until he/she has registered on-line for this contest as instructed by Station. A friend may be a friend or family member (subject to eligibility requirements). Friends will be entered into the contest as “participants” within one business day of his/.her completion of the on-line registration process but in no event prior to April 7, 2008. A “friend” may only identify one participant as the person who referred them to this contest.
4. During the course of this contest, participants may receive contest updates from time to time sent by postcard mailer, fax or email depending on the participant’s choice. Some of these updates will include the name of a song in a particular contesting hour to listen for and that song will immediately precede a winning opportunity announcement (as described below). However, receipt of these reminders (or failure to receive these reminders) will not affect a participant’s ability to win in this contest.
5. Every weekdays (including holidays) from April 1, 2008 through June 6, 2008 (unless contest ends early as described below), Station will announce one participant’s name on-air during the hours of 9am, 11am and 2pm (between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m. and noon, and 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.). The first and last name of that participant will be randomly selected from among all participants/Entrants as of 11:59pm on the preceding business day. Once a name is announced on-air (regardless of whether such person has won or not), that participant’s name will be put back into the contest drawing pool for additional opportunities to win. Although the Station anticipates that there will be three different entrants drawn for each of the three different daily drawings, it is possible that the same entrant could be randomly selected and named on-air more than once each day.
6. Once the participant’s name is announced on-air, that named participant will have 30 minutes to call the radio station’s contest line at (336)373-0987 to claim his or her cash prize (subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these contest rules). Only calls received at the preceding phone number are eligible to participate in this contest. In the event the named participant does not call back in time, his/her name will be added back to the database of participants and be included in future drawings through the end of the contest. There is no limit to the number of times a participant’s name may be randomly selected and named on-air during this contest. WARNING: Online listeners to streamed broadcasts may experience a lag in transmissions due to buffering limitations. Contest Participants should not rely on streamed broadcasts.
7. NOTWITHSTANDING ANYTHING TO THE CONTRARY IN THESE CONTEST RULES OR THE GENERAL CONTEST RULES, THIS CONTEST WILL END AS SOON AS THE STATION HAS AWARDED (BASED ON RECEIPT OF A CALLS WITHIN THE REQUIRED 30 MINUTES FROM ALLEGED NAMED PARTICIPANTS) A TOTAL OF $16,400 IN THIS CONTEST.
8. Each participant who calls with 30 minutes of the announcement of their name on-air will win a cash prize of either $100, $500 or $1,000 as advised verbally when they call-in to claim their prize (subject to verification of eligibility and compliance of contest rules).
9. REFER A FRIEND BONUS: In the event that a referred “friend” wins a cash prize in this contest, then the participant who “referred” that friend will also win an amount equal to the amount that the “friend” was awarded (subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with contest rules by both the original participant and his/her friend).
10. Participants may win up to a total of $10,000 each in this contest. If any participant wins more than $10,000 in this contest (whether as a direct winner or a winner of a refer-a-friend bonus), any cash prize won in excess of the initial $10,000 will not be awarded.
11. The amount of each cash prize allocated to winning opportunities will be pre-assigned by Station. The amount associated with each winning opportunity will not be announced on-air or advertised in any other manner. It will only be disclosed to the winner verbally on the telephone, if there is a winner. During the initial 54 winning opportunities (i.e. on-air name announcements in this contest), the following cash prizes will be made available: thirty-nine (39) cash prize opportunities of $100 each, five (5) cash prize opportunities of $500 each and ten (10) cash prize opportunities of $1000.00 each. After the initial 54 winning opportunities the remaining cash prizes available (i.e. not previously awarded) will be assigned by the Station as they see fit no less than one time per week for the immediately following week of the contest. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Station does not guarantee that there will even be an initial 54 winning opportunities (i.e. if a total of $16,400 has been awarded in this contest whether directly or through refer-a-friend bonuses, this contest will immediately end in accordance with Rule # 7 above).
12. Cash prizes will be in US dollars and issued by company check. Checks will be made available to winners within 4 to 6 weeks from the date it is won. Any prizes which are not awarded shall remain the sole property of WSMW. All prizes must be claimed by the winners, in person, within thirty (30) days of receiving notice (including by voicemail message or email) that the check is ready to be picked up. Checks may be picked up at the WSMW offices at 7819 National Service Dr. Suite 401 Greensboro, NC 27409, weekdays 9am through 5pm. Any prize not claimed within such 30 day period shall be forfeited.
13. The winner may be required to show picture identification to claim the prize and to evidence proof of age, identification, and/or residency. Winners will be required to provide their social security number.
14. Odds of winning depends solely on the number of persons invited to enter and that elect to participant. Based on similar promotions, Sponsors estimate that at least 8,000 people will be eligible to participate during the entire contest period and up to an additional 8,000 “friends”; however, the actual odds of winning a prize depend upon the number of parties participating at any given time which fluctuates daily. PARTICIPANTS WHO ARE ENTERED INTO THIS CONTEST EARLIER DURING THE SOLICITATION PERIOD WILL HAVE AN INCREASED CHANCE OF WINNING THAN THOSE WHO ENTER OR ARE SOLICITED TO ENTER LATER IN THE CONTEST PERIOD.
15. The sponsors of this contest are: Entercom Greensboro, LLC, Lisa Turner Personal Marketing, Inc. and any subcontractor used in making contest solicitation telephone calls.
Other Rules Specific to This Contest
16. All participants in this contest (including, without limitation, “friends”) must be 18 years of age or older as of March 31, 2008.
